Marko Milivojević

My name is Marko Milivojević. I was born in July 1977 in Belgrade, Serbia. From that moment on, things in my life went haywire and right now I’m a happy father and husband, who happens to be the citizen of the world. For my professional background, please take a look at the professional background page.

From very early days of my life, I have shown the ability and interest to hear and know things around me. I’m very curious and I like hearing and learning various things. I don’t believe in useless knowledge, for there is no such thing.

My interests are various. I work with computer networks and some people even consider me an expert, but I just like what I do. I also fly airplanes for fun, but noone considers me an expert there.

When I was younger, I played volleyball. Once again, some people say I was quite good at it. Nowadays when it comes to sports I play basketball when I’m not riding my bicycle. I don’t skate, I don’t ski and I don’t quite get the point of it. What I do get is flying airplanes. I’m enjoying it and I may have a story or two to share.

For the first 22 years of my life, I lived in Belgrade, Serbia and I still love that city. In 2000, I moved to Iceland and lived in Reykjavik and Kopavogur until 2011. Considering that there is no place like home, Iceland is an amazing and beautiful place. Since 2011 I’ve been living in Silicon Valley, California. For a network geek, this is the place to be! I enjoy traveling, and I think I’ve travelled a lot. Take a look at my “travel map”.

I have no favorite colors and I thoroughly enjoy cooking and dining. I enjoy good wine, but don’t enjoy drinking. I don’t smoke and some consider me aggressive non-smoker, but I’m just mildly in favor of banning tobacco.

When I work, I’m a network engineer. I used to teach others how to do it at one point, now I’m a Googler helping to “organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful”.
